Across Tennessee and into Arkansas

I still haven;t been able to get caught up on all of our adventures. It seems that everynight we get into our room and collapse in exhaustion. It doesn;t leave much time to reflect or report upon our activities.

Yesterday we started our trip towards Waco. We quickly passed from Pennsylvania, to Maryland, through West Virginia, to Virginia. Most of the day was driving in Virginia along the narrow strip that divides West Virginia from North Carolina. We ended the day just in Tennessee.

Today was spent driving across Tennessee. We drove from the northeast corner to the southwest, so a simple look at the map shows why it would take most of the day. Ended up just into Arkansas. Unfortunately we spent about an hour today caught up in some traffic cased by construction. We hope to arrive in Waco tomorrow.

Tennessee was amazingly beautiful. I don't know if it is just that time of year, the climate, the unusually warm weather that we have been experiencing, or the species, but Tennessee is extremely green and beautiful right now. The grass is growing as is green. Many of the trees are setting forth new green leaves, and there are some trees that are blooming. As we drove down the freeway we were treated to a riotous mix of dark green from evergreens, light green from the new leaves, and vivid purple of blooming trees.
