The Days Run Together

It is beginning to be hard to keep the days straight. Nebraska and Iowa tend to run together in my mind. At the same time the things that we did yesterday seem to be quite a bit further in the past than simply yesterday. This is sign as we passed into Iowa yesterday.

Here we are entering Illinois. We took a toll bridge across, but didn't realize it until the tollbooth in the middle. We didn't have any cash on hand as we had just barely spent it at a museum, and they could accept a credit card. Fortunately, we were able to write a check and the crisis was averted.

It was really quite amazing to be at the Mississippi river. I have never seen it before, except from a plane flying far overhead. In just three short days we have driven the distance that the pioneer covered from Nauvoo to Utah.
